One of my favorites
AJ goes through phases of speech, where she uses one particular phrase for a variety of things. Right now, that phrase is “one of my favorites” and here’s some of the mileage it’s seen recently:
- One of our neighbors has a dog that keeps showing up in our yard/garage. We were taking him back the other day, and I saw that his name was Butte. AJ declared midway through the return process that “He’s one of my favorite Buttes”
- Upon seeing Rebekah playing yesterday morning, she declared “She’s one of my favorite Rebekahs”
- Usually when she hears a Ray LaMontagne song on the radio, she says “He’s one of mommy’s favorites”
- Usually when she hears a familiar artist on the radio (Philip Phillips, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Mat Kearney, etc.), she’ll let us know that “He’s one of my favorites”…but sometimes this applies to songs she’s never heard before, or new/obscure artists she’s never heard before. No matter: they are always “one of her favorites”
